General Course Information

Course Orientation and Evaluation

Our Virginia computer-based 8-hour Safe Motorist Course is designed to allow for easy navigation throughout the course by providing the course in modules that permit you to freely navigate to previously completed course material (if you have questions concerning topics presented therein). Also, during the course, you may encounter timers that have the effect of ensuring that you do not progress through the course (or bypass course content) without completing all of the material for a given section. The course contains personal validation questions that are included to ensure student identity. You must answer these questions in an accurate and timely manner in order to proceed in the course. Finally, your successful progression through the course will be evaluated by your receiving a minimum score of 80% on a final exam at the end of the course.

Certificate of Completion and Course Credit Requirements

Once you successfully complete the course Modules, pass personal validation, and pass your final exam, the American Safety Council will mail you a Certificate of Completion and electronically notify participating insurance carriers of your successful course completion. If for some reason you do not receive your Certificate of Completion in a timely manner, please feel free to contact one of our customer support representatives at (800) 771-2255. Contact-Us
